Microsoft Windows Vista or Windows 7 users should install Deepsky using the following procedure.

1) Don’t use auto run. If the set up starts up automatically when you insert the CD/DVD, cancel it.
2) Open windows explorer and browse to your DVD or CD root directory that has the setup.exe file on it.
3) Find the Setup.exe file and right click and select RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR
4) Answer any of the install prompts as you normally would to install the software.

Once Deepsky is installed, go to the Deepsky shortcut right clicking it and selecting properties. Then go to the Advanced tab and check RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR as shown in the screenshot below.

If you still are having trouble after following this procedure, please turn UAC off under USER ACCOUNTS in control panel. When you turn this off, you will need to reboot.

If you still are having trouble, you may need to turn off DEP. Just goto

Advanced System Settings
System Properties - Advanced Tab
Under Performance Section, click Settings
Under Performance Options Window, Click Data Execution Prevention
click Radio button for "Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select:"
Click button for ADD, and then browse for the software to be excepted... ie Deepsky
